Been too long, but Jean Grae just elevated the hip-hop video as an art form. More in common with the great mindbender/plot-twisty films than pretty much any music video. Let me repeat that. El-P. Is producing Killer Mike’s album. WOW. I’m surprised that more people’s brains aren’t exploding (in either good or bad ways) over this one. Always been an enormous El-P fan; never really got into Killer Mike, though I did like what I heard. Maybe it’s out of desparation in this wasteland of today’s hip-hop, but I’m really curious and excited to hear how these different universes come together — and if the first track is any indication...
