The real Magic Mike, part I.
So there’s some movie called “Magic Mike” out. Unfortunate that the mere mention of the name doesn’t default to the Orlando DJ, who was really a huge hip-hop/bass pioneer. I imagine that literally the only reason he’s not more known today is geography. What’s interesting is that his work existed before there was much of clear line between “regular hip-hop” and “Miami bass;” as a result, a lot of his stuff was the best of both worlds. Best example, his seminal “Drop the Bass.”
