“DJ Magic Mike and the Royal Posse,” the album, is especially interesting; it came before that deeply disappointing brand of geographic discrimination against the south even had a chance to develop. This why I think the track “Def and Direct” is so interesting — emcee Infinite J seems to be channelling Keith Murray before there was even a Keith Murray. Love them big words…
